Footprints in the Sand
- a- G* x  G8 G5 o8 X; ]# M3 s9 {0 q! i  j, n5 i
One night I had a dream) r* F# \( y$ m
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.1 b6 F: B; z! A7 v; o
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.  R+ W) ~1 R, B' s$ g0 L
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,# O/ Z. O( X: V' q- g" F. w
one belonging to me
% k; N  _: s6 ?2 @* Uand the other to my Lord.' G* a4 ?4 x* h: a
When the last scene of my life shot before me
0 J- `5 ]6 M8 d% q% X  j2 KI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
! E( s/ y$ e9 ^! S' Q1 AThere was only on set of footprints.
( y! c6 P2 p8 }I realized that this was at the lowest % W, d& p% |4 E8 Q7 L4 @2 B
and saddest times in my life.: x3 E* @" U( U" O* _5 e
This always bothered me   C# r- L7 b: W& t4 O( s# f3 u, U
and I questioned the Lord
" t' S& r/ d5 m0 w1 k9 L  j5 _about my dilemma.6 m& ~! f: c, b. o
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
/ Y' m: c8 L2 @4 B. }' J0 ZYou would walk and talk with me all the way.
$ o/ n" F' b* S8 }But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
8 }% j5 s/ N9 Itimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.; R  @$ p1 g$ P6 @$ h' r
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
- y, t' G5 B$ T& \you leave me."
  \! I& q/ q8 ^5 u2 v, B1 d$ A5 PHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
- W0 O0 _3 \* A# O3 I* VI love you and will never leave you& V2 X  I2 F1 V( }( M
never, ever during your times of trial and testings.
& K" Q2 Z# W  @, w/ ~% FWhen you saw only one set of footprints
; ^; o3 j% [) tIt was then that I carried you."
