I was walking along the beach with my Lord.& S5 N3 z( ]3 i4 U8 _
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.4 f1 j- v9 u4 i* G
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
/ b$ r8 c( g6 |8 h: Oone belonging to me6 W# z$ W) X8 Z: X3 `
and the other to my Lord.
8 }' T8 ~, X: z9 d! _% r: dWhen the last scene of my life shot before me
- v2 S) D% O0 F5 J- AI looked back at the footprints in the sand.4 X% Q. {  O! ]! u$ H- ~
There was only on set of footprints.
3 t6 b% z, X: r7 w3 }2 j# II realized that this was at the lowest
0 H5 Y: g) _3 Xand saddest times in my life.  Y4 Y( K( N8 L& U
This always bothered me
# e& `' c; _8 [and I questioned the Lord
% w  o) B6 C1 Nabout my dilemma.8 V2 n1 Q  v" f/ R: ^
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,  r; L/ W+ N; R, l! D
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
; y4 n: h! R6 z1 A7 r. ?0 `! jBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
* e9 ?0 U% t9 o5 G& u1 }$ |% o* Ztimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
; Q4 M. g7 E* |- P% J% l* A. [5 UI don't understand why, when I needed You most, ) C- G& f- P& {4 K. U2 @$ |
you leave me."0 _6 _2 y! t3 K: }4 K  B% H
