Footprints in the Sand$ h- s) U8 _; A6 e) o# d

One night I had a dream
3 R9 h& i: ^' ~, X/ v3 E  zI was walking along the beach with my Lord.
1 {" x! A: V; vAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.& ~9 o" P2 c- ?: l8 s  p, }
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
" g7 U& R+ O5 T( y1 T# n4 ]% d2 {one belonging to me
, W$ j% @# J5 e2 Cand the other to my Lord.
! g1 E: _$ L! X! z: LWhen the last scene of my life shot before me
# z2 ^/ [) x: ~* c3 nI looked back at the footprints in the sand.
  h) w4 n% H) m9 K  ]; qThere was only on set of footprints.% G5 K0 X( d9 ^' e( s
I realized that this was at the lowest
: ?) L& ]: A1 _. land saddest times in my life.
7 U- ^' m1 E7 Q$ P9 YThis always bothered me : V* e0 v" Q- w# U
and I questioned the Lord
7 k  ~4 q' F6 ]3 I, b$ Rabout my dilemma.
% G; U/ y( q8 K" [9 F"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,* D1 b6 |! y! T3 v! J. l
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
. x+ Y9 H4 e0 P  DBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome . J0 m5 l- z& o4 H- i
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.; h4 m& i; l1 X! s$ U" g
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
+ Q0 O) a# H0 T. ayou leave me."
" n2 B6 P, c& y7 i  FHe whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
" t8 E0 M+ W! X5 _  lI love you and will never leave you

When you saw only one set of footprints
