Footprints in the Sand

+ O0 @  x+ v! f8 h8 q1 cOne night I had a dream
5 X! u" i% M8 M) a0 ]I was walking along the beach with my Lord.- B6 p5 b5 K" g8 b2 w- v6 w# ]
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
& A4 J! \$ M3 A7 |$ WFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
) Q) s1 A- I! W" i7 z7 H, cone belonging to me
* v9 k! y, t' ]) e$ x  @and the other to my Lord.
% z0 U4 Z9 w4 l( \& G4 }When the last scene of my life shot before me
2 L& Y) X7 V' WI looked back at the footprints in the sand.! F0 {: P& G' C3 _% ]
There was only on set of footprints.6 z9 ~" k1 ~  D
I realized that this was at the lowest
$ a1 j$ ~& I8 J- Dand saddest times in my life.2 D8 x' e! x$ i* }6 v9 ]0 ^
This always bothered me
) r- b/ J, J# L, X0 Dand I questioned the Lord
9 I4 \9 x0 V2 s  O6 Xabout my dilemma.
" V% d3 r: w  ~"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,$ u0 G$ u# X. I& Y7 V/ s4 D# q
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
% O: q( Z6 Z0 W: s3 y" w  xBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome 3 v" A0 a) S; w8 P
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.
: I( U7 Y& m+ w/ SI don't understand why, when I needed You most,
2 R4 N# O4 p6 [1 w7 r. }& J4 v/ ?you leave me."4 E, x& R, j/ h2 N( f
He whispered,  "My precious, precious child,
' @: j- D3 k: z6 jI love you and will never leave you
- Z" O3 p* n1 R8 lnever, ever during your times of trial and testings.
