Footprints in the Sand

0 F% t: C" p0 ~2 ^; ?$ eOne night I had a dream+ W! [6 p% f1 \6 ]3 J& r
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
, ]/ j7 _* Z1 A$ x8 N$ P) B  {  ], OAcross the sky flashed scenes from my life.
) x3 M/ e9 i- ]+ Z1 t2 W* vFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
3 h1 F# ?2 f! Rone belonging to me
+ ~5 k, _' y* D& w, }: jand the other to my Lord.
7 U; r: _4 S! J3 ?' w; kWhen the last scene of my life shot before me
4 g9 |$ Y; l3 l, {I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
1 P# q+ ~+ M6 K$ ~+ w  _There was only on set of footprints.
- J/ y' V1 l" s% X) OI realized that this was at the lowest 4 n& q  m) E5 T% N7 S6 T
and saddest times in my life.
: I6 n: j* @5 P" x4 l8 sThis always bothered me
2 f. @. i+ g+ D" G2 O+ I" m0 dand I questioned the Lord" n5 U7 z+ K0 h) b
about my dilemma.; g# i6 P4 x! D. r
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
) G8 E+ D3 W5 T. d" M) L/ c$ rYou would walk and talk with me all the way.
3 W+ T( ]9 X) l8 f0 ~5 W: V: {0 RBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome ! a) B2 T0 g" I9 A
times of my life there is only one set of footprints.
  k0 e, W$ Z+ @! s" v0 nI don't understand why, when I needed You most, . M7 B2 ~* o/ r' ]' E
you leave me."
