Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream) O& c- _3 A# j4 ~6 E7 G
I was walking along the beach with my Lord.1 Z2 |$ o/ C5 r7 N* j! U
Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
* Z/ A- y9 J; u0 Y2 zFor each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
+ J% h+ r. g9 o7 y& m5 S$ {/ Qone belonging to me& F& a: \, _; H2 r- n6 q0 |
and the other to my Lord.9 s% V  R' _& L: C6 F
When the last scene of my life shot before me
# S- q% T) u' k7 e, ]I looked back at the footprints in the sand.8 U/ J% Q' f+ b7 p
There was only on set of footprints.
" L$ @& y9 v" q4 J7 `9 yI realized that this was at the lowest % w( v- N+ L- Q: h( J  h
and saddest times in my life.6 V3 n8 L% f/ u' d+ ?+ c2 F3 N; x& A
This always bothered me
* [& I; b. K" M( g2 R$ M) P0 ]and I questioned the Lord
9 O% _: w2 O  H- K7 `+ ^, A$ D" habout my dilemma.1 h8 T0 {6 i5 [- H) X) E
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,
9 D2 s$ {) n. k  D# [You would walk and talk with me all the way.+ Z2 _% s% [8 J; n
But I'm aware that during the most troublesome
( s  F$ P: o6 D1 e& ttimes of my life there is only one set of footprints.
4 j# T2 X, W; q% QI don't understand why, when I needed You most, ( e, w! c6 `& d
you leave me."

It was then that I carried you."
