Footprints in the Sand

One night I had a dream
, J+ x9 C" l5 ^& EI was walking along the beach with my Lord.
; }/ W) A! ]' _+ d' _Across the sky flashed scenes from my life./ f+ f6 n0 g' @9 A/ X3 N
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,) f; J" y0 ~- R2 r( p
one belonging to me
  \: k; U6 t" ]  f* @and the other to my Lord.
. o) U, v; E! j5 Q! l0 RWhen the last scene of my life shot before me6 e/ ]0 m. y( G* j: l. R( }* Q
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
2 }) D9 O( a2 e. g: DThere was only on set of footprints.
+ c* V- k. Y7 w- `7 Y( ~  ^I realized that this was at the lowest ' D; H9 w% N6 G+ x5 a) J; X6 e! f& ^
and saddest times in my life.
# v$ K1 V' N' `, `: w; I" AThis always bothered me : N( h" Y3 N7 t& F4 P) I0 v0 L2 J
and I questioned the Lord
5 n/ P/ c* o* u; R+ t; t1 tabout my dilemma.5 R% S* \7 H+ D  ^5 b# H& Q
"Lord, you told me when I decided to follow You,: h1 l1 y5 c6 r' G0 j
You would walk and talk with me all the way.
" E1 D: r' @  w4 KBut I'm aware that during the most troublesome
: F* g( E0 C; T& m, ptimes of my life there is only one set of footprints." L' X: y* }5 Y
I don't understand why, when I needed You most,
: X3 [2 Y: M$ V: o5 \, s# g. E& Oyou leave me."

When you saw only one set of footprints8 H5 y! |' N9 E- _
It was then that I carried you."
